Just a Wednesday

Our babysitter was sick this week, she had a case of strep throat (crossing fingers the girls don't get it). This resulted in me having the opportunity to have a little extra time with my girls on Wednesday.  I got home from work around 1:30, was able to finish up most of my stuff during nap time, and Andy went off to bed.  

I had a coupon for $10 off a Blu-Ray Combo pack of the new remastered version of Beauty and the Beast (<-- coupon here), so I picked it up at Target because it is on sale for $24.99 with a bonus princess cd.  ($14.99, not bad!).  C is really into anything princess right now, and E is really into anything C right now, so I thought we would have a little picnic in the basement and watch the new movie.  I packed up the basket and off we went...
We had a lovely time!  E especially enjoyed gumming the peaches I cut up.  

We also made some sugar cookies and decorated them because we were having a Thursday dinner date with our friends Rana, Peyton and Gavin.  

I realized I should get C more involved with helping me cook or bake.  She really enjoyed decorating the cookies. She actually even asked again today if we could decorate more cookies.  

E did a good job supervising the decorating portion of the evening.  She kept a keen eye on big sis.

I really wish I had more days like this where I could come home early and spend more quality time with my girls.  Hmmmm, maybe I should bring it up at my next review???  Something to think about, anyway.

MTM

It's Muffin Tin Monday again!  This week's theme is Circus.  I was pretty excited about this theme, but when it came time to actually plan it, I had a couple ideas and then struggled to come up with the rest.  Besides the fact that I had a bit of a stressful day at work today and forgot my little diagram of what I was going to do for the tin at work.  So I couldn't remember what the last space in the tin was originally planned to be (it was animal crackers...of course I remember now!).  

Cheese rings, apple animal parade, terrible looking lion bagel, clown bagel, grape balloons, yogurt with elephant candy. 

I also printed out a circus picture, because we have never been to a circus, and I don't think C even knows what it is.  

She wasn't too into the bagels, although she ate the faces off of them.  She loved the grape balloons, and was delighted to find a nice pile of shredded cheese under the clown.  

It was so cute when I told C that it was Muffin Tin Monday.  She got so excited, it was fun for me to see it is something that she is looking forward to also!

October is Here!

Andy and I wanted to take the girls up to Fawn-Doe-Rosa, a wildlife educational park in St. Croix Falls, WI.  So on Saturday, we all piled in the family truckster with a bunch of blankets, stocking hats and the new double jogging stroller.  

Here goes Miss C chasing after the geese.  You can purchase a little bag of treats to feed the animals and C was gung-ho to feed the animals.  Until we realized that when you show up at Fawn-Doe-Rosa right when they open, animals are swarming you looking for food!

C got a bit freaked out by the amount of fowl rushing at us.  She thought they were trying to get her.  

But Andy made a new friend!

We stopped to look longingly at a nice selection of big bucks.  

We thought now that E is a little bigger that she would like it more, but she didn't seem too excited about much of it.  I suppose next summer when she can run around after sis and toss food to the animals she will really enjoy it.  

Even though it was a little chilly out, we had a nice time out together as a family.  We only get to be all together on the weekends, so I think we all enjoy our Saturdays and Sundays much, much more these days.
